Alpro recently expanded it’s product range by introducing three yes three new dairy-free ice creams in vanilla, coconut and a chocolate & hazelnut flavour which is retailing in Tesco at £3.50 for a 500ml tub. I’m sorry I really really really tried to like this. However, the fact that it still remains in the freezer in the most furthermost dark corner tells it all really! Ingredients wise it had me scratching my head a little, however, that’s usually the case for me.

I just got up from writing this review to make sure I hadn’t misjudged it & to taste it with a fresh palette. I lobbed out two large spoonfuls. For a few minutes I was like ok it’s overly sweet a little artificial tasting but not awful awful… forward a few minutes…Nope it’s still a no from me. It has this artificial aftertaste and just makes me feel like it’s not something I should be eating. I know this review is not actually telling you anything other than it’s not my cup of tea. However, as with most things I always say your better off giving it a try yourself. You may just think it’s the best think since Follow Your Heart Mayo but for now I’ll stick to my Almond Dream salted caramel and perhaps have a go at making my own to cut down on all the added extras in the ingredients. I will make sure at some point I try the other flavours but for now I wait until something new pops up on the vegan food horizon. Have you tried it? Which flavours your favourite?
