Why the long title? I’ve been stopped by those pesky people in train stations, supermarkets etc that try and sell me a recipe box. I always say sorry I’m vegan. They then look at me as if trying to decipher the Da Vinci Code from my knotted eyebrows as I wait for them to do one of the following…
Say ‘You eat fish though right?’
Go ‘oh ok’ and then walk off
Say one of my family can sign up for the box
Tell you they do vegetarian dishes
or my favourite one…
YOU CAN REMOVE THE CHEESE
Sorry. Pardon. WHAT? You want me to pay for food not suitable for me in the first place, remove the bits I don’t eat like honey, meat, milk, eggs, cheese and then make food using vegetables like I can do at home in the first place? No thank you please. I’ll pass.
So now I’ve got that off of my chest let me take this opportunity to introduce you to Plant Curious (IG) who launch today the UK’s first exclusively plant based organic recipe boxes delivered to your doorstep. They are starting off with 100 pre-order boxes that you can order through www.plantcurious.co.uk so make sure you grab them before they all go.
Who are all of these beautiful people I hear you ask. I along with 60 other vegan/plantbased foodie influencers were invited down by the wonderful team behind Vevolution to come along to eat some good food and learn a bit more about the company, it’s ethos and what it hopes to do for plant based/vegan consumers and the wider community.
Co-Founder Woj Gawor explaining what led to him and (Co-Founder Angela Gawor) to going plantbased, the lack of recipe boxes available that were both plant based and organic, the health issues faced by Angela’s father Richard who sadly passed and how it all led up to where they are today with the launch of Plant Curious.
We were served a delicious array of food whilst chatting away and catching up and of course no one was allowed to eat before we had all snapped, posted and shared food snaps across social networks. Taking pictures of your food makes it taste better don’t you know.
Ok so we were given a lovely goodie bag with the ingredients and recipe card to make a lovely meal all of which survived and went on to make delicious dinners. We were also given an organic tomato plant to nurture and grow…..as you can see I’ve had to rely on the picture taken at the event as I’m not so sure my baby now renamed Larry Green is going to make it. I’ve watered, fed and given it a nice home but I think he wants to see other people.
I will give you more details on the location that the event was held at another time but please understand that If I won the lottery today I would so want to buy it and live there it was beautiful!
So please do check out Plant Curious give them a try and let me know what you think. I wish them all the best and cannot wait until one of their team approaches me at a train station, event or supermarket etc and asks do you want to try our boxes. I can’t wait to respond…’Baby you had me at plantbased’
